ABOUT US
Ynno Med is a drug R&D platform dedicated to addressing the unmet clinical needs of new antimicrobial agents tackling antimicrobial resistance. We have established a cutting-edge antibiotic discovery platform that targets unprecedented drug targets, specifically protein-protein interactions involved in bacterial RNA synthesis. Our goal is to design, develop, and distribute first-in-class antimicrobial medicines that can treat current antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections and suppress the generation of new antimicrobial resistance. We also provide drug design and discovery services through our AI-assisted drug discovery technologies.
ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE
At YnnoMed, we are committed to developing innovative solutions that tackle this issue. By addressing the concerns revolving around current antibiotic-resistant infections, we aim to safeguard the effectiveness of antibiotics for future generations.
Understanding Antibiotic Resistance
Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antibiotics, the drugs designed to kill or inhibit their growth. As a result, the bacteria that survive can continue to replicate, leading to persistent or severe infections that are much more difficult to treat.
How Antibiotic Resistance Develops
Antibiotic resistance can arise from several factors, including the misuse or overuse of antibiotic treatment, spontaneous genetic mutations in bacteria, and the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria between individuals. Antibiotic resistance can develop as a result of a selective pressure exerted by external factors, such as antibiotics, which allows resistant bacteria to survive and multiply while susceptible ones are eliminated.
Why Tackling Antibiotic Resistance Matters
Antibiotic resistance is one of the greatest challenges facing global healthcare today. When bacteria develop the ability to resist treatment, current therapies become ineffective, making common infections much harder to treat and potentially life-threatening.
